Project Description
Solar power is becoming widely adopted in California and that includes progressive city governments that are looking for long term energy independence solutions for their cities. Fountain Valley has previously implemented solar panels on its police station in 2013, but the success of that implementation inspired a new round of solar power implementation in the parking lot for the Fountain Valley Recreation Center. The new solar array now only provides power to cool the newly retrofitted gymnasium but also provides shade to cars in the parking lot, creating an even cooler experience for residents who are enjoying Fountain Valley services.
