Project Description
Fountain Valley might be just a couple miles from the Pacific Ocean but temperatures can vary widely and hot summer days require cooling for interior spaces. In particular, the City’s indoor sports gymnasium at the Recreation Center was nearly unusable on hot days, taking away a key community asset. Implementation of air conditioning at the Recreation Center was accomplished as part of a complete energy upgrade program for the City resulting in no General Fund tax dollars being used to implement air conditioning. Even better, the new air conditioning units are energy efficient and tied into a solar power array that further reduces the environmental impact of the energy used to power the air conditioning.
